Nashville’s Union Station Hotel Unveils New Look

Sage Hospitality and Pebblebrook Trust have taken the wraps off a $15.5 million update to the Union Station Hotel Nashville. The renovation, overseen by Dawson Design Associates with Gobbell Hays Partners serving as project architect, “pays homage to the property’s rich history by seamlessly weaving the building’s stunning architecture with contemporary and provocative details,” participants say.

Acquired by Pebblebrook Trust in late 2014, the hotel is housed in a neo-Romanesque former train station. Its grand lobby features the original barrel-vaulted stained glass ceiling, now complemented by large-scale steel sculptures made from re-purposed and recycled materials and three 10-ft.-tall, custom chandeliers.
The hotel’s 125 refurbished guest rooms have walnut feature walls, cowhide headboards, custom iron and wire chandeliers, and leather accents. The hotel is also home the Carter’s restaurant, which features an oversized, two-sided marble bar and private booths, and meeting event spaces with original tile and Kentucky limestone.
