An enhanced entryway welcomes guests with new signage, architectural sconces, tall green hedges, and laser-cut metal screens. The Bay level is home to several meeting spaces with new custom carpeting, rich walnut entry doors, and modern furniture. The revitalized third-floor lobby radiates energy with wall-to-ceiling canopies wrapped in handcrafted wallcovering and inset lighting. Warm walnut desks greet visitors at check-in, and the existing gray concrete foundation is enlivened with neutral tones, supple fabrics, and contemporary patterns. 2016 Upholstery and Trim International Convention

Image
By Michael McBride, Marketing Coordinator at Enduratex™ Just got back from the 52nd Annual Upholstery and Trim International Convention at Pointe Hilton Squaw Peak in Phoenix, AZ. What an amazing convention it was! First of all, the resort was incredibly beautiful! It had seven pools, a lazy river with a water slide, a putting course, fitness center, three on-site restaurants, three tennis courts, a basketball court, its own retail store and its own ice cream shop... its so sad that we were not able to really enjoy any of it! The meeting room is where we spent the majority of our time. With 35 one-on-one company meetings in just three short days, we kept ourselves pretty busy. I know, this sounds pretty strenuous and exhausting... and they were at times. However, these meeting were definitely not a waste of time. We got to catch up with many good companies, meet with new ones, share ideas and helpful information, gloat... I mean share our new and upcoming products, and gathe

Strapping Classic Car-Upholstery Accessories

Image
Cars and rock and roll have gone together since the early days. Whether it's  Hot Rod  Lincoln , G.T.O  or a bunch of songs by The Beach Boys, auto enthusiasts were instrumental to the history of the genre. Photography has played a huge role in our hobby as well. Think of the number of cars you know about but only ever see in pictures. A company called  Couch   definitely sees the connection and creates seriously cool straps and accessories using dead-stock automotive upholstery. They even offer a range of wallets and shaving bags, if you're not a rocker or camera buff but love the classic style. Their products run the gamut of  classic cars . They have guitar and camera straps made from the upholstery of an '80s  Volkswagen Golf  (pictured above), the  vinyl trunk liner  from a late '60s  Ford Mustang ,  vinyl seats  from '80s  Mercedes-Benz , a fantastically retro  shaving bag  from a '70s  Jeep Cherokee  interior and a lot more. The dead-stock material

Poised Taupe: The 2017 Color of the Year

Image
2017 Color of the Year Sherwin-Williams doesn’t usually like to play color favorites, but in this case we can’t resist. The color we anticipate defining 2017 is  Poised Taupe . Here’s why: This timeless neutral is modern, classic and a beautiful balance of warm and cool. The 2016 industry shows revealed a surprising transition from grey to taupe. Both contract and consumer color / products have been focused on grey as  THE  key neutral – although grey is still important, we have seen a significant shift in materials and finish color to warmer, taupe-ier expressions of neutral. 2017 Key color combinations featuring Poised Taupe… In addition to the “warming up” of neutrals in general, 2017 will see several key colors emerge in combination with taupe. Cornflower Hues Faded indigo and lighter cornflower hues, pair with modern white and Poised Taupe for a charming palette, reminiscent of the French countryside. SW 7605 Gale Force Interior / Exterior
